Many people hesitate because seeing a lawyer feels like the point of no return. In a first consultation you do not hire us for anything. You describe your situation, and we tell you what lies ahead.
Before you ask
What to know beforehand
60 minutes, at our office at Frankenallee 230 or by Zoom. You speak with lawyer Mieke Karcher or lawyer Dietrich Karcher, depending on the topic. If we confirm the appointment, the first consultation costs up to €190 plus 19% VAT, at most €226.10 in total. If we take on your case, this fee does not apply. The request itself costs nothing.
The form is a request, not a booking. We usually get in touch on the next working day and agree on a time. A retainer only comes about when we both confirm it in writing.
“I will wait a while longer” is a result too. You go home after the conversation and think it over.

If we are not the right people
Sometimes it does not fit. We say so in the conversation. Two cases you can spot yourself right now.
Your case is essentially criminal, inheritance, employment or tenancy law. We only do family law.
The other side is already a client of ours. Then we are not allowed to represent you. We check that before the appointment.
